What is Coaching?
What is Coaching in CrossFit?
Coaching is about creating change. Great coaches produce great outcomes.
In CrossFit coaching is:-
A great coach needs to be a great teacher. They can distil a large body of knowledge into essential concepts and then communicate key points in a manner that promotes learning.
Differentiate between correct and incorrect movement, see what needs to be improved in both static positions and dynamic phases of movement and can discern between gross and subtle errors and improvements.
The ability to bring about improvement in movement for all levels of athletes with an arsenal of cues and corrective drills.
They attend to every person as if they were the only one in the class.
PRESENCE AND ATTITUDE
Great coaches have the ability to make people want to train with them.
Great coaches can supply a visual framework for instruction by providing examples of good movement and contrasting errors with correct mechanics. A coach does not need to be a perfect mover, but they should know where and how they fall short and be able to seek out a better visual example when needed.
